Terrorists wielding AK-47s and hurling explosives executed at least 118 people inside a Paris concert hall late Friday night, in a massacre that followed coordinated attacks that killed at least 40 more people, rocking the French capital -- prompting President Francois Hollande to close the entire nation's borders and order a state of emergency.

French police said early Saturday they believed all of the attackers were dead but they were still searching for possible accomplices.

At least 200 people were injured in the attacks, 80 of them seriously, according to Agence France Press, citing a security source.

The carnage inside the music venue ended around midnight local time when French police stormed inside, killing three Kalashnikov-toting gunmen who witnesses said wore flak jackets as they slaughtered horrified spectators. The victims had gathered to see the American rock band Eagles of Death Metal, and a handful managed to escape to tell of the horror taking place inside where the killers shouted "This is for Syria!" and "Alahu Akhbar!" as they cut down patrons from a balcony before the band took the stage.

French President François Hollande ordered a state of emergency in Paris and closed the country's borders after the violence broke out.

A police union official told the AP that there were two suicide attacks and a bombing near the Stade de France, north of Paris. At least three people were killed near the stadium, Gregory Goupil of the Alliance Police Nationale told the AP.

Paris police prefect Michel Cadot said all of the assailants are believed to be dead, but authorities are still hunting for any possible accomplices.

The attackers at the Bataclan venue first shot at cafes outside before continuing the assault inside the concert hall, Cadot said. He said the assailants blew themselves up with suicide belts as police closed in on the theater.

He said one set of attackers was in the city at nearly the same time that another group was at the stadium.

"Terrorist attacks of an unprecedented magnitude are in play in Paris. It's horror," Hollande said.

"I've asked for military reinforcements to make sure that no other attack can happen," Hollande said.

Hollande traveled to the Bataclan theater early Saturday morning.
