Parts of the US East Coast are bracing for a ‘potentially historic’ blizzard that could dump up to 90 centimetres of snow and cause major disruption.
It is set to hit an area from Maine to New York City and Philadelphia.
Some however are taking it all in their stride.
Massive snowstorm forecast for northeast United States

“I’m ready. Bring it on,” said Boston resident Chris Gaffney as he cleared existing snow from outside his home.
“I enjoy it. I used to live in Tampa Bay so this is a nice treat. It is New
England.”
“It’s no problem for me. I don’t mind it,” added fellow Massachusetts dweller Wensworch Alexalander.
“If it has got to come, it’s got to come.”

But many are stocking up on food, drink and other essentials amid warnings from New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio to stay off the roads and “prepare for something worse than we have seen before”.
“People have been coming in since this morning, buying rock salt and shovels,” said Michael Harris, who works at the Ace Hardware store in Wading River, New York.
The biggest snowfall on record in New York City came during the storm of February 11-12, 2006, dropping 68 cm, according to the city’s Office of Emergency Management.
With lashing winds also forecast, airlines have already cancelled hundreds of flights.
