New update:
Tepco is struggling to contain the highly radioactive water that is seeping into the ocean near Fukushima. The head of Japan's NRA, Shinji Kinjo exclaimed, "right now, we have an emergency," as he noted thecontaminated groundwater has breached an underground barrier and is rising toward the surface - exceeding the limits of radioactive discharge. In a rather outspoken comment for the typically stoic Japanese, Kinjo said Tepco's "sense of crisis was weak," adding that "this is why you can't just leave it up to Tepco alone" to grapple with the ongoing disaster. As Reuters notes, Tepco has been accused of covering up shortcomings and has been lambasted for its ineptness in the response and while the company says it is taking actions to contain the leaks, Kinjo fears if the water reaches the surface "it would flow extremely fast," with some suggesting as little as three weeks until this critical point.

Highly radioactive water seeping into the ocean from Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant is creating an "emergency" that the operator is struggling to contain, an official from the country's nuclear watchdog said on Monday. This contaminated groundwater has breached an underground barrier, is rising toward the surface and is exceeding legal limits of radioactive discharge, Shinji Kinjo, head of a Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) task force, told Reuters.Countermeasures planned by Tokyo Electric Power Co are only a temporary solution, he said.Tepco's "sense of crisis is weak," Kinjo said. "This is why you can't just leave it up to Tepco alone" to grapple with the ongoing disaster."Right now, we have an emergency," he said....If you build a wall, of course the water is going to accumulate there. And there is no other way for the water to go but up or sideways and eventually lead to the ocean," said Masashi Goto, a retired Toshiba Corp nuclear engineer who worked on several Tepco plants. "So now, the question is how long do we have?"Contaminated water could rise to the ground's surface within three weeks, the Asahi Shimbun said on Saturday. Kinjo said the three-week timeline was not based on NRA's calculations but acknowledged that if the water reaches the surface, "it would flow extremely fast."...The admission on the long-term tritium leaks, as well as renewed criticism from the regulator, show the precarious state of the $11 billion cleanup and Tepco's challenge to fix a fundamental problem: How to prevent water, tainted with radioactive elements like cesium, from flowing into the ocean.

ReplyDeleteHow can we believe what you are saying?
Can you really risk not believing
DeleteIt's 2015 ...what happened ?
Delete[-{
DeleteIs this true?
This was written in 2013, so I assume we are all dead from radiation poisoning now.
Deleteyou are using NOAA tsunami map.
ReplyDeletea study about Cesium (one of many nuclear contaminants) and its spread across the Pacific. 10 years was used because the south pacific bomb tests resulted in contamination reaching western USA in 10 years:

Model simulations on the long-term dispersal of 137Cs released into the Pacific Ocean off Fukushima
OPEN ACCESS
theres no gaurentee these simulations are 100% accurate. they are based off of reported seapage
DeleteMan will learn one day not to play with that kind of stuff hopefully they learn soon before they poison the planet and kill us all
ReplyDeleteToo late....
DeleteNuclear weapons and power plants are a hoax.. they will use this along with drought in California to evacuate the region and force people into stack and pack cities.. they will continue to use false flag attacks and hoaxes to funnel people out of the countryside, away from coastlines in alignment with Agenda 21. The nuke hoax has kept the population in perpetual fear of extermination for over 50yrs.. no nukes, no satellites, no moon landings, planets and stars are spiritual entities not as yet perceived by mankind & the earth is an infinite, flat, stationary disk in the centre of this universe and we are simply a melted puddle of ice in a never-ending expanse of ice. These are the Biggest secrets..
ReplyDeleteSo Hiroshima and Nagasaki never happened either?
DeleteYou rip. Man where is the sarcastic button?
DeleteYou rip. Man where is the sarcastic button?
DeleteRight so the 75 sailors that were on the USS Ronald Reagan in the radioactive snow March 2011 who have one of three types of CANCER and/or thyroid problems...... They're not real either right? Secrets my ass.
Delete*and those are only the confirmed cases* long term there will be thousands. Get Real.
DeleteU people should run for political office! For real man get off the acid the 60's are over!melted ice?! Come on man wtf!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou tell em!!!
Delete98% of the population is made up of power mongers, politicians and idiots - we were all doomed decades ago - it's just an ongoing progress.
