Pope Francis’s visit to America has been confusing to say the least. While a Vatican spokesperson labeled him as a “conservative”, there isn’t really anything conservative about him.

In fact, he might be the most progressive Pope that history has ever seen. And though most of what he said before Congressthis week were things that pushed the liberal agenda to new heights, he did say a few things that everybody should agree with, no matter what side of the aisle you stand on.

The Pope Scolds Congress On US Gun Sales, Liberals Distort His Words

However, even those few wise words were taken out of context by liberals. Look at what the Pope said about the selling of weapons to other countries, for example.

During the Pope’s visit he spoke to Congress about the deadly weapons America is selling to those who everybody knows are planning on using them to inflict suffering and harm on others. He was referring to those we sell them to in other countries, which really does need to be examined, but that didn’t stop his words from being taken out of context.

However, his words to Congress were immediately seized by media outlets like the Chicago Sun-Times and anti-Second Amendment groups as an impetus for gun control too. Breitbart News reported that Americans for Responsible Solutions—the gun control group founded by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly—sent out a donationrequest after Pope Francis spoke. In the request, they asked for $3 from every gun control supporter and quoted the first part of Pope Francis’s question—”Here we have to ask ourselves: Why are deadly weapons being sold to those who plan to inflict untold suffering on individuals and society?”

Giffords went even further than asking for money by sending a tweet that cast gun control in religious overtones. She tweeted: “Inspired by [Pope Francis], let all Americans engage in a politics that sees thepassage of just legislation that may bring us closer to grace.”

This is a perfect example of how liberals lie and distort things, and how they let no good opportunity to push their agenda go to waste. The saddest thing about it is that the selling of weapons to foreign countries and groups who use them for evil really does need to be examined by citizens and leaders alike. This is how ISIS was formed, and there’s no telling how many more monsters our government has created that we don’t know about.
