We all get friend requests from people we don’t know on Facebook and those of us that are smart don’t accept those requests.
Being an owner of several large pages on Facebook as well as being affiliated with a coalition of other pages, all of which are right-wing leaning anti Obama pages I have received countless messages and requests from anonymous people which I have deemed to be questionable to say the least.
I have not accepted one request and I go as far as to block these individuals. That is my personal decision and is my advice to you as well.
That being said, there are some reports out including one from CONSPIRACY CLUB that validates my concerns.
They report:
The Feds are on Facebook.
U.S. law enforcement agents are following the rest of the Internet world into popular social-networking services, going undercover with false online profiles to communicate with suspects and gather private information, according to an internal Justice Department document that offers a tantalizing glimpse of issues related to privacy and crime-fighting.
Think you know who’s behind that “friend” request? Think again. Your new “friend” just might be the FBI.
The document, obtained in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, makes clear that U.S. agents are already logging on surreptitiously to exchange messages with suspects, identify a target’s friends or relatives and browse private information such as postings, personal photographs and video clips.
