Two Tallahassee Police officers have been suspended with pay after video surfaced Tuesday showing the officers slamming a woman's head into the back of a police vehicle and taking her forcefully to the ground.
The incident on Aug. 10 occurred when Christina West, 44, was arrested in the early morning of Aug. 10 after crashing her SUV into a house, according to the Tallahassee Democrat .
Her cheekbone was broken in two places, her eye swollen shut and her nose bloodied.
The video didn't become public until Tuesday morning, a month after the incident, when the Democrat obtained a copy from prosecutors.
On Wednesday, city commissioners weighed in, with some upset over how West was treated and the matter handled by the department.
