Russian President vows to protect Christians across the globe from the rising persecution.
According to details, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to defend Christians across the globe from persecution which has become a rising phenomenon. This was revealed by a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, who asked Vladimir Putin to defend Christians from persecution.
Hilarion- a Foreign relations chief of the Russian Orthodox Church, in a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin; presented facts and figures related to Christians being persecuted at international level. During this meeting, the Foreign relations chief of the Russian Orthodox Church told President Vladimir Putin that: “Every five minutes one Christian was dying for his or her faith in some part of the word.”
During the meeting, President Vladimir Putin was told about the worsening situation Christians around the world are facing primarily owing to the religion based persecution in Muslim countries which have become hotbeds for Christian persecution. The foreign relations chief of the Russian Orthodox Church urged President Vladimir Putin to use all his resources in order to provide some relief along with aiding the persecuted Christians.
As soon as President Vladimir Putin was presented with facts and figures regarding Christians being persecuted globally, he was urged to draft out a foreign policy which could extend protection and defense of Christianity across the globe.
To this request, President Vladimir Putin replied: “You need not have any doubt that that’s the way it will be.” Russian President Vladimir Putin assured Hilarion that Russia’s foreign policy would ensure defense of Christians from persecution overseas.
According to a recent report, 2015 was the most violent year with regards to persecution of Christians at global level. There has been an unprecedented persecution internationally. The phenomenon of persecution includes killings, kidnappings, sexual abuse, trafficking, demolition and arson of churches and heinous acts of such kind.
