The budding scandal surrounding Planned Parenthood's selling of aborted baby body parts is unconscionable to most Americans, even some who support the procedure of abortion. But to a growing number of left-wing progressives – especially so-called "academics" and "scientists" – not only is there no remorse or outrage, but they are actively defending the practice.
Reps. Jan Schakowsky, Zoe Lofgren, Jerry Nadler and Yvette Clarke, all left-wing stalwarts, are outraged – but not at Planned Parenthood. According to MSNBC, they are angry at the Center for Medical Progress, the organization that spent two-and-a-half years doing undercover investigative work in preparing a series of videos that will be released over the coming months. These federal lawmakers want the Center investigated, not Planned Parenthood.
As MSNBC further reported:
[The lawmakers] made it clear where they stood when they requested... that Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her California counterpart Kamala Harris look into whether the group behind the videos broke the law. "This is a new low, even for anti-abortion activists who will stop at nothing in their effort to undermine a woman's right to choose," Schakowsky said in a statement.
The issue isn't whether the group supports abortion or not; the issue is the sale of fetal body parts, which is against federal law, and is the motivation behind the center's investigation. So in essence, these lawmakers are attempting to run interference for Planned Parenthood's illegal activity simply because their ideology supports abortion at any time, any stage and for any reason.
Intentionally misplaced outrage
Indeed, today's bastion of left-wing progressivism, the Democrat Party, took an even stronger tone.
"Planned Parenthood is a trusted, affordable provider for women and men across the country. When Republicans take aim at this organization, they're making it harder for women and families to get ahead economically, get access to the health care that they need, and lead the healthy lives they deserve," said Kaylie Hanson, a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Convention (DNC), in a statement to MSNBC.
As you notice, however, the DNC – and the Democrats who are pressing for an investigation into the Center – did not address the central issue: the illegality of selling human body parts.
There is more denial over at The Daily Beast, where a July 21 story is headlined, "Hoaxers Fail to Nail Planned Parenthood in New Video." The tactic here is one that is also being employed elsewhere: claiming that the entire investigation was faked and the videos produced as a result of the undercover investigation phony.
The "journalist," Samantha Allen, even suggests that people watching the video didn't really hear what they heard – PP officials discussing the sale aborted fetal body parts. Instead, Allen insists that one official, Mary Gatter, a medical director of one PP facility, is only talking about shipping costs.
"Although mentions of dollar amounts in the conversation may sound alarming—as they were in the first video—small payments for transportation and processing are legal in human fetal-tissue donation. Under 42 U.S. Code § 289g—2 , U.S. law prohibits the 'valuable consideration' of human fetal tissue, but it does allow 'reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue,'" Allen wrote.
It's part of a larger agenda
This line of thought again passes over the main issue that fetal body parts are being sold(and other videos will show that they are being sold for a profit, the Center's officials note), and that is not legal. The same U.S. Code says violators can be fined up to $500,000 and sentenced to as many as 10 years in prison.
The move to downplay what Planned Parenthood is doing is part of a longtime Leftist effort to dehumanize humanity and control the population.
As reported by WorldNetDaily.com, Alveda King, niece of former civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and head of outreach for Priests for Life, notes this kind of grisly body-parts trade has been going on for years and is part of a wider movement.
"It's all lining up," she said, according to WND. "The dots are actually being connected. Remember my Three Headed Monster Report? There is so much that is hidden. It's time to tell the truth."
